If you are familiar with the North Gulfport community, you know that there is a lot of vacant land out here. We estimate that roughly 1/3 to 1/2 the lots in this community are vacant...and overgrown...and full of garbage...and have clouded titles... and all the necessary infrastructure to build a quality home for a North Gulfport family!
We have found that we can purchase a parcel of land (a lot) for roughly $1/sq.ft. or $3,500 - $7,000. This is a lot that is developable with a quality affordable house but because of title issues, is generally unmarketable. With our pro bono legal team, we are able to clear title on the lot, clean up the lot with our volunteers and build a home for our residents. It is a win for the homebuyer, the community and you (a tax deductible contribution).
